Quick and simple, this page helps you prepare your transatlantic crossing and compare the available marine weather sources.
Pilot charts
Very useful for a global view of mean airflow in the North Atlantic. Pilot charts help you plan ahead and set a route based on the prevailing winds month by month.
Grib files
Once you’ve set your route, you can download GRIB files to your computer and load them into your preferred navigation software.
Map
A true snapshot of key data (wind, swell, temperature, weather, pressure, …), the map shows 10-day forecasts from the ECMWF 9 km model—one of the most accurate today—visualized by the renowned Windy.
Offshore bulletins
Issued under the GMDSS, these bulletins—written in English—are, to put it mildly, very brief, but they do have the merit of existing.
