Tides time

Consulting the tide tables is often essential before any nautical activity. Tides also have a varying influence on local weather conditions.

The simplest way to know the times of low and high tide, water heights, and tidal coefficients is to consult the Almanach du Marin Breton. If you don’t have it on hand (which is quite common nowadays 😁), you’ll find everything you need on the SHOM website. The data provided there is as official as it gets.

To do so, simply click the button below and search for the tide times of the port of your choice — around 100 ports in France and more than 1,000 ports worldwide!

You can view the times, heights, and coefficients of high tides (HW) and low tides (LW) for the next 7 days.
The tide graph allows you to directly read the water height at a given time.

On the SHOM website, it will appear as follows (example for Arcachon):

Once you’ve checked the tides, you can move on to the next step : checking the marine weather !
